The Oktoberfest is a worldly renowned event which takes place every year between the end of September and the beginning of October in Munich (Munchen), Germany. The event goes on for three consecutive weekends and a total of two weeks celebrations.
On this occasion, the area of Theresienwiese turns into a giant amusement park, with the famous "Festhalle, representing Munich's historic beer houses, serving rivers of beer night and day.
As in every amusement park, there are also souvenirs tents and little kiosks selling sandwiches, beer, würstel and the famous Pretzel, a salty kind of bread typical of the Bavarian region. [read more...]
